The picture of the cross symbolizes the sacrifice for our sin
The wine and bread of communion symbolizes the spilled blood and broken body of our Savior for our salvation – And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” (Luke 22:19-20, NKJV)
For some, these reminders no longer have value and are tossed aside to be discarded.
Let us remember the importance of the cross and the sacrifice for us!
